ChildreN need both parents

Fighting for change, equality and shared parenting in the Family Courts.

Many applications are abandoned because fathers run out of money, suffer ill health or the ability to simply carry on. The cost of going to court can range from £10-£50,000 in a process that can take years. Many fathers cannot afford to go to court and spend thousands of pounds on a court order which has a 50% chance of being broken and will not be enforced by a judge. One study found contact decreases over time and breaks down entirely in over 20% of cases within 5 years (Simpson, McCarthy, & Walker, 1995).

HOW MANY CHILDREN LOSE CONTACT WITH A PARENT?

Father4Justice estimates that 1,000 children a week lose all or significant contact with a parent!!!

On average, one child is taken into care every 20 minutes in the UK and over 15,000 children were put up for adoption in 2013, twice as many as five years previously. However many times you read those statistics, they remain shocking.
